Muddiford Inn Old 1920

The Muddiford Inn

Chef/proprietor Phil Wild and wife, Arden, took over this village Inn in November 2021 and following major renovations, the couple have recently re-opened its doors.

Phil is an enthusiastic and dedicated supporter of local suppliers, and this is reflected on his menus where you’ll find local game, meat, fruit and vegetables and fresh fish delivered daily.

Phil’s long and illustrious career as a chef includes working in iconic British inns and hotels, having started his career at the Michelin-starred Carlton Elite Hotel in Switzerland. He achieved numerous accolades in country house hotels including the famous Sir Christopher Wren’s House Hotel, Windsor where he was Executive Head Chef for 10 years.  Phil then moved to Marbella where he ran his own restaurant for 3 years before returning to the UK to run his own successful pub/restaurant which was awarded 9/10 for food by the Daily Telegraph.

The Wilds’ have restored the Inn to its rightful place at the centre of the community offering a relaxing place to meet, eat and drink, in the beautiful North Devon countryside.

After a successful career Phil is now returning home to where it all started.
